This story was a real treat to read. It followed several characters in a small town, all of whom had their own unique personality. Each one of them brought something different to the story. Often when a book has so many characters, I lose track of them. But not with this book! I loved the plot twists and the mishaps. Oh - the mishaps! It was like watching a movie where nothing could go right sometimes. But the characters always landed on their feet, and I found myself routing for them. Even some of those I didn't like in the beginning, I started to relate to in the end. Another thing that was impressive was how this book made me feel like I was in Texas. The dialogue had that southern Texas drawl to it in places, reminding me of the setting. I like traveling to places in my mind when I've never been there in real life, but only when the author does a good enough job to build the setting in my head. This one definitely did that. For anyone who enjoys romance with sass and drama with a little comedy mixed in, this is a great book from a new author!

This is a super fun book to read!! Every night I would get into bed and look forward to reading it. It takes you away from life and makes you laugh. You won't be disappointed!!!
Loved the book. Couldn't put it down. Laughed till I cried over Maggie's and Nelson's escapade. Strong characters make this a great read.
This was a fun and quirky romantic comedy. A friend recommended the book to me from this new author. There are some odd breaks in the story that could use some more development, but overall the story was lighthearted and enjoyable. If you like reading Sandra Hill with all her crazy Cajun characters, this author reminds of that line of books. If this is the author's first book, then I look forward to reading more and see her growth. There are definitively some characters in the book that I hope the author develops into their story lines -- can't wait to see what happens to them!
This book had me hooked from the very start. The characters are so real and well-developed, and distinctive, they had me rooting for them from the start.The twists and mishaps gave the book the tension and suspense that had me flipping the pages while biting my nails. I didn't want to put it down. The comedy relief and steamy sexy scenes were well drawn, and the ending wrapped up all the plots and subplots like a master storyteller. These very talented writers will go far and I can't wait to read the next one.
Super fun, laugh-out-loud, racy read that transported me to quirky, small-town west Texas and made me feel like I was reading the book version of a country song by Miranda Lambert. When it ended, I wished I could have headed out to the Dixie Diner and visited with the cast of characters a little longer! I’d tip my cowgirl hat if I had one to the author who did an amazing job of telling a never-a-dull-moment story from the point of view of a variety of endearing characters, including tomboy ranch-owner Ferina, vixen Mallory, sleazy Lenny, sweet Dwight, pitiful Wayne, and on and on… I hope there will be more books with these characters in this setting!

That is, until a handsome, sexy attorney arrives in the small Texas town to represent the greedy, grabby other side.

I enjoyed the wide array of characters—especially sweet, lovable Dwight, despicable Lenny, sassy Ferina, and even rich-girl Mallory. Co-authors Zari Reede nailed the small-town country dialogue. Heck, I’m close to Arkansas and didn’t know what many of the southern sayings meant. I enjoyed the plot twists and cracked up about the only diner in town, the Dixie Diner, serving really bad food. If I had to describe this novel using one sentence it would be Andy Griffith meets Hee-Haw with a big splash of steamy sex, cocktails, and memorable characters.
